We are looking for a creative elephant. 


We’re looking for a Creative lead to join our busy design studio and head up the creative output on a key account. Someone with creative presence who can lead and nurture a happy and productive digital team. The ideal candidate will be able super organised and able to deliver on multiple quick turn around briefs, over a long period of time and be ready to make their stamp on a growing department

We are looking for a hands-on Creative Lead to drive and elevate creativity. As someone with at least 7 years of design agency experience, you will confidently lead a team of designers & copywriters and be responsible for the creative output across the studio. 


A large part of the role will be working to help deliver social creative on Pinterest, so experience with creating content for, and interest in Pinterest is a must.


The work is fast paced and hugely varied, working with many of the world’s biggest and best known brands (such as PinterestGoogle & Microsoft to name a few).

Job requirements

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Directors to drive creative excellence

  • Lead the creative team across multiple projects and on-going timelines, you will personally ensure final deliverables meet client expectations & objectives.

  • Ability to prioritise work and resources based on short and long-term deadlines. 

  • Help shape the creative department, manage and mentor junior team members and play a key role in business development. 

  • From conception to implementation, your leadership in content production, storytelling and project management across teams is essential.

  • Take responsibility for the well being of the department, managing staff appraisals, and objectives and ensuring that the team works as a cohesive group. 

CREATIVITY
  • Someone committed to creating beautiful, effective and engaging work to tight deadlines.

  • Conceptual ideas generator, being able to bring all those relevant ideas to life.

  • You’ll be able to get your hands dirty in Photoshop as well as leading designers to achieve creative excellence.

  • Hands on design - you will be able to lead by example showing where necessary the most creative way through, as well as getting your hands dirty and helping out when the pressure is on.


COPY
  • Whilst working with copywriters, you should have a strong command of the language, able to express ideas simply, with wit and clarity. 

  • Ability to define and/or respond to a client’s tone of voice and share with your team.

ART DIRECTION
  • Strong visual appreciation (photography, design, visual editing) and ability to give focused feedback to improve the design and video assets.

  • Up-to-date on social and cultural trends and fashions.

  • Ability to work with designers to craft execution to creatively answer a client brief.

INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE AND THIRST FOR INNOVATION
  • Understanding of different channels, with a particular passion for social media platforms. Your Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram game has to be particularly strong. Demonstrable experience in turning client briefs into social gold is essential.

  • Appreciation for great work – up to date with the latest and greatest, with excellent knowledge of what’s happening in the industry. Constantly looking for new formats with which to innovate.

  • An interest in and understanding of creative uses of technology and innovation right across the industry.

  • A clear and distinct understanding of the role of paid/organic social media and how it can cleverly play in wider campaigns/marketing or PR plans. Examples of repurposing assets and/or sponsorship work, and making them best-in-class social are welcome.

  • Openness to feedback, other opinions and ideas. Ability to go beyond the job description when required to help the team. Able to team up with different people when required.
